¡D.I.Y. or Die! // LAdyFest Outtakes

If there is one thing missing from our cultural education, it is the appropriate use of the swear word.  Timing, spacing and sincerity all go into this art.  Canonized works and mainstream periodical publications use them.  Why are we always told not to?

It was too bad I couldn’t find a place for this interview in the final cut.  It’s not like Erika says much that’s new (being comfortable in the LAdyFest space and all that) but there is something very personal and appealing about who she is.

Plus the fact that she says “fuckin’” and “fuck” and a host of other swear words in a non-aggressive way.  They are means of expression and could not easily be replaced by any other word.  That’s why they don’t make her sound unintelligent, merely emphatic.

So go ahead, Erika.  Drop fuckin’  knowledge.  (See how that didn’t ring as true.)
